Deinonychus (i think). saw this head study by John Sibbick and tried to complete the dino in the same style .. it was done so i could try to understand the muscle and skeletal structure and the balance of the beast. gouache on illustration board.
I think it's generally excepted that he was feathered nowadays.

Did you still edit this in photoshop? Or is this the raw scan? The colors are amazing.

i took a photo and uploaded it in Corel painter 9 and cut it to a white background and slightly enhanced the colour to bring it back to the original colours, i like my paintings bright and colourful. This is as close as i can get to the painting
