Damon Hill, Hungary 1997 ... so close. He became world champion in 96 and went to a new smaller team in 97. Nobody gave him a chance but he had Bridgstone tyres which out performed everyone else. He came in second to Jacque Villeneuve who went on to win the championship.

I was there - the only F-1 race I attended in person. And Hill making a miracle and almost winning that race was the best present I could get. I should dedicate a painting to this wonderful day too. Thanks for reminding!

Impeccably done piece. Your gallery is finite in the realm of photorealism. Thanks for sharing...and selecting one of my pieces ("Denzel Washington") as a "favourite".

I'm amazed at how detailed this is! Great painting. :) I've always thought the Arrows A18 was a fantastic looking car. Just a shame it wasn't as quick as it looked.

Ok, I've read some of the comment and know now that these are older drawings, so forget my question. :) Still, this is splendid!!
The writing on it is great! It's not easy to draw/paint letters and make them look as if they were printed but you made it look amazing.

Excellent work, Mark:O!!! Although I can't see the colours, this piece looks absolutely stunning!!! You've got my juices flowing now, so I better step-up to the mark - no pun intended - & get researching with my 'Audi R8' project:D! Brilliant work, absolutely brilliant!!!

Poor old Damon. I remember watching that race on TV, and you could tell Murray Walker was very sad that the Arrows didn't quite hold out. It would have been an amazing win, more so than his Jordan one.

Damon Hill! I miss the early 90's in F1. Senna, Prost, Mansell, Schumi before being world champion, still in Benetton, Alesi... and of course, Damon Hill.

Oh, and I forgot that this was a gouache painting! :wow: This is an old painting of yours, is it? I remember you mentioned that as of lately you only do graphite. Still, it's a wonderful work and sure fave!

It is tricky. I've never liked to work with gouache, I like acrylic or oil paint very much better. Not because you can fix more, but it just flows smoother on a canvas or even over paper.
