love that you did stones with this amount of commitment. wish painters would use stones and such insteadd of damn flowers in a vase for still-"life"s!

thanks for the nature!

Thank you, it's not photographic and exact but once i understood the textures i improvised on some of the stones but it works and i learned how to render stones which was nice :D

Thank you, i needed to try to understand the textures for my medusa drawing and it helped a lot. It was very enjoyable too and made a welcome break from portraits.

Fantastic realism Mark!
I can imagine this was actually quite nice to draw, even though the subject might be a little less appealing when you're usually drawing something a bit more... erm... lively? Looks like it would be quite relaxing!

Thanks Nat, yes i thought it would be relatively easy to draw but it was actually quite a challenging piece .. maybe that was just because i was out of my comfort zone but it was fun to do something a bit different for a change for sure and i think it came out ok :D

Sorry for the late reply - my only excuse is I liked your recent drawings on Facebook :iconsparklingsmileplz: but that's just pressing a button  This is so amazing, I really admire the fact you drew stones  I'm afraid I'm too shallow to draw anything that's not alive and fluffy - and I'm sure this is probably much more work... Beautiful !

Thank you so much, it was challenging and that felt good. It wasn't harder .. just a different thought process, i had to approach it in a different way than i would a portrait. You do alive and fluffy so very well though, i love those animals you do. Seeing them want's me to start using colour again.. very inspiring :D
