The mirror and the mask by markstewart The mirror and the mask by markstewart
Graphite on A4 smooth Bristol.
reference used [link]

It's my first attempt at doing a drawing from my imagination and regardless of it's faults i'm quite pleased with it. If i were to do it again i would definitely use a reference for the male. It was good to get some practice with the softer darker grades though.

That black in the background mark? anything in particular to achieve that darkness?

I used an 8B Mars lumograph pencil on this drawing .. just pressed hard on this one. Usually i will use a stiff small paint brush to scrub the black in using small circular motion to get rid of stroke lines and get a nice uniform covering and a nice black. My favourite pencil for darkest blacks is a Koh -i-Noor Progresso woodless 8B pencil, nothing else i have comes close to it for a nice dark.

Excellent, excellent work Mark! My hat's off to your imagination and ability to make something really good with it!
She looks positively evil and his stone texture is really convincing (although he still reminds me of the KFC guy :giggle:)!

Amazing drawing and even more so because you drew it without a reference :faint: The woman looks so familiar but I don't know who she reminds me of - could be someone from the village here  or maybe a bit her from black-eyed peas, especially the eyes
